Catwalk

Intrigued by the scale and theatrical aspect of catwalk Fashion jewellery Sancha Demetriou had the opportunity to collaborate with fashion Designer Darcel De Vlugt for her graduate fashion show as well as accessorising her collection for 'Island Fashion Week' -Bahamas 2008 and 2009. This is a creative area that she is keen to continue working in.

The first collection was inspired by girls that had been shipwrecked, flowing shirts, corsets and pirates! The idea was that the girls created garments from sails and ropes, wading through the sea with barnicles and beautiful sea life clinging to their bodies. Texture was an important theme in this collection as well as playing with scale. It was exciting to work in this way.

Eye of The Goddess
This piece was part of a collaborative project with fashion designer Darcel De Vlugt for her collection that was entered in to Islands Of The World Fashion Week. The piece merges the identities of Greek Goddess 'Hera' and Trinidadian Goddess 'Mama Dlo' taking symbology from both characters to create a vibrant and striking piece for a black dress. The piece uses mixed media to create different colours and textures.

Embellishment for Fashion designer Darcel De Vlugts 2009 collection for 'Islands of the World Fashion Week' Sancha Demetriou was asked to collaborate with the designer to create embellishment and accessories for the collection.
